Volvo Recalls XC60
Volvo has recalled nearly 10,000 XC60 crossovers to fix a potential safety belt defect, the automaker says.
The voluntary action stems from a single failure of the seat belt’s attachment point on the driver’s seat during a side-impact crash test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Despite only one vehicle being involved, the automaker opted for the recall because of its emphasis on safety. Volvo says it’s unaware of any other incident happening on the road or in any of its crash tests during vehicle development.
Owners may take their XC60 to any dealer for free repair. The recall affects only 2010 vehicles sold in the U.S. and Canada.
